One of the most notorious animation festivals in the world, Anima Mundi is calling for entries this week for animators who want to send their creations to the 27th edition of the Festival, which will take place from July 17th to 21st in Rio de Janeiro and from July 24th to 28th in São Paulo.
Submissions are free and can be sent in the following categories: Short Films, Brazilian Short Films, Short Films for Children, Portfolio, Feature Films, Feature Films for Children, Gallery, Student Short Films. Also launches two new Anima Mundi categories at this eddition: Documentary Short Films and Virtual Reality. Only films that have not been submitted in previous editions of the Festival will be accepted. The deadline for submissions is March 31st.
With the curatorship of the animators and founders of the Festival, Aída Queiroz, Cesar Coelho, Léa Zagury and Marcos Magalhães, the selected films will join in the main program and also compete for the award for best animation in each category. The winner of the Anima Mundi Grand Prize is qualified to represent Brazil in the selection of animated films in the Oscars.
