Installation 12i

The festival presents another interactive installation from artist Márcio Ambrósio: 12i is a reinvention of the traditional zoetrope that takes participants on a playful and poetic journey between the past and the present in that they’re invited to create animation from their own body movements. The process takes place in two parts: the capturing studio and the 12i zoetrope.

In the capturing, the audience is invited to act in front of a camera and record 12 poses of their own movements in sequence. After filming, a ticket with a barcode is generated and given to the participant. When this is put in the 12i zoetrope, the personal animation is projected together with that of other participants with the same theme and mixed with sound and special effects. Once the participants leave the installation they can see their own animations again on the 12i website; just log in with the identification number and share with friends. A magical and fun experience that can be repeated again and again.
