As a complement to the activities of the Anima Forum, the festival will offer three interactive presentations for Brazilian professionals and students, where international artists of renown in their fields will share their experiences with the audience.
Brazilian animator Guilherme Marcondes will talk about the production of films that mix different animation techniques, Jordi Grangel, from Spain, will illustrate the development of a feature film, and Canadian artist Andy Malcolm will make a demonstration on his area of expertise: creating and recording a wide range of sound effects, which are essential to any film, especially in animation cinema.
Character Design for Tim Burton's "Corpse Bride"Jordi Grangel and his brother Carlos co-direct the Grangel Studio, in Barcelona: a renowned creative center that provides services for classic and digital animation productions. A highly skilled and dedicated team of artists, including designers, animators, sculptors and painters, create and execute models, maquettes, and consumer products. Some of its clients include DreamWorks SKG, Sony Pictures, Aardman, Warner Brothers, Universal Pictures, Amblin Entertainment, Blizzard Animation, Colossal Pictures, and Walt Disney Publications and Consumer Products.

In his class, Jordi will present, using a wide variety of illustrative material, the development process behind characters, props, costumes, background sketches and sculptures for one of the best known projects they've been involved in, the stop-motion feature film "Corpse Bride", by American director Tim Burton.

Foley for Animation Andy Malcolm has been dedicated to the art of foley since the 1970's and his passion for this art form has made him one of the most respected foley artists in the world. His studio, Footsteps Post-Production Sound Inc., is located in Toronto, Canada.

He has worked with the finest directors of both live action and animation films, including Robert Altman, Tim Burton, David Cronenberg, Norman Jewison, Neil Jordan, Spike Lee, Terrence Malick, Michael Mann, Robert Redford, Jay Roach and Gus Van Sant.
In his masterclass, Andy will show us how he creates his incredible sounds for animation films, and invite the audience to join in the process.

Borderline animation: Developing projects in the limit between techniques by Guilherme MarcondesThe animator and designer Guilherme Marcondes will also be participating in the Animated Chat, and tends to successfully mix all kinds of different techniques in his films.
In his masterclass, he will give a detailed presentation on the development of some of these projects (such as the short film Tyger, in which he used puppets, 2D and 3D animation, models, live action filming, etc).

He will explain how he develops the concept for the production of such a film, present the works of art that inspired it and talk about the preparation process involved in its shooting.
